Has anyone had the same problem, where you store the caravan you are unable to physically fit a wheel lock?
Our caravan used to be in storage, but recently moved house so its now alongside our house. However, there is no gap to get down and fit a wheel lock to either side.
We have a hitchlock fitted, and we are considering getting some steady locks. We also have two cars parked in front of it, and the a frame is at the opposite end of the drive, towards the garage, so you can't get to it . Would insurers still insure us? Is there anything else I can do to persuade insurers to cover us?
Most caravan insurance companies will require two forms of security as a minimum which is usually a hitch lock and wheel clamp but if you can't access the side of the caravan to apply a wheel clamp you could drill through two of the rear legs and fit padlocks to either of them as this will stop the legs being raised thus unable the caravan being towed away. Speak to your insurance company first though to see if they will accept this application as a secondary device as their policies can differ especially regarding the post code of where the caravan is stored.
