I posted on here a while ago asking you lovely people for help and advice. I have Fleetwood Garland 165/5 5berth caravan. We bought the van off a friend of ours for our son to 'bunk' in as we have a very small house and he needed his own space. Anyway, he's now moved out and is at Uni and we decided to 'do' the van up for us to use. It's a lovely little van but sadly because we haven't really kept on top of it, it needs quite a bit of work and TLC. I posted on here to ask for advice ages ago and thought that we could give it a go. But sadly, because of our work commitments, we haven't been able to do anything to it. Do you think anyone would take on the van as a project maybe or is my only option to sell it to a breakers?? Thanks again for your help and advice.
Hi Danny...I'm in the Wigan area. I Don't really want to see the caravan broken up as I think it's too nice. It needs front windows and the back one replacing and new tyres. The only other job would be checking the area and sill at the front of the caravan for any damp. And that's it...if me and my husband had the time and the experience we'd do it ourselves and it's a crying shame that it's just stood on the drive doing nothing. Or am I just being silly and sentimental wanting to save it from the knacker's yard?
What a shame! I bought a van recently and discovered a bad leak, I was devastated! I work full time in a bank and don't do a great deal of DIY. However, after putting a post on here and getting a bit of advice I have fixed it and it's almost ready to use after just three weekends! It has been fun doing it and I've learned all sorts. Hope it goes to a good home if you do part with it, if you change your mind it can be great fun putting it right.
As stated, best bet is ebay then it finds its own value, don't be too ambitious with start price if you just want rid. Low start & no reserve should shift it & require buyer to collect & pay cash. The 'buying season' is just starting, so good time to sell.
Hi Chris...yes the van is still available. I am off work this week and Will take some photos. I was going to get some used replacement windows and get those fitted then I could put it on eBay. After the Windows, all it needs are some new tyres and the sill sorting and it's probably good to go. I say probably because I'm no expert I just wish I had the confidence to sort it myself. But let me know if you are interested - or anyone else for that matter
Cheers Lorraine

laticsbird - I need a rear side window (next to bathroom) for my Garland 165/5, I also need a replacement front locker lid, would you be willing to sell me yours?
stroake...oh,I'm so sorry but I really want to sell it as a full caravan. I have been told by the previous owner that if I sold it as it is it could possibly achieve between £1200-£1500 and if I did the work myself could sell it on for £2000 +.
