Following on from my post of 1st March saying that my Zig unit died in a big blue flash! I have just fitted the Amperor C3 18amp unit.. So far all went well and appears to be working well. The only problem I have had is that my leisure battery was completely flat and has not held its charge despite being out of the 'van and on a trickle most of the winter.
Therefore in order to test out the new charger I have had to use a nearly new 90amp car battery.So far all appears OK and my query is;
            Is it OK to keep using the car battery or should I replace it with a leisure battery. We do not usually use the 'van away from electric hookups.I read in another earlier post that in vans over 10 yrs old (ours is a '94 Buccaneer) it is OK to use a car battery.. Is this true?
    Any thoughts on this matter appreciated.
                 thanks.. H...

Thanks to all for the replies. I will use the car battery.It seemed daft to pay out for a leisure batt when a perfectly good car one was sitting in the garage doing nowt!
          Will sleep easy now!!
