Have just opened the blinds on our Bailey Ranger 550/6 to find that not only the inside window on the front has cracked but the outer window has also cracked - around about three inches on both. These are both in the left hand corner on the main large window.
I have no idea when this happened but it must be fairly recent :(
We are meant to be going away tomorrow!
I can't find this kind of thing mentioned in our insurance policy and can't understand how it's happened. Maybe the combination of snow/frost/sun we seem to be getting.
Just wondered what everyone would do?
Would you still attempt to take it away, get it fixed privately or try and claim on the insurance?
Gutted :(
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

I would make a temporary repair with strong clear tape and go away you could also drill a small hole at the end of each crack to stop it spreading   Not sure about claiming on the insurance it's worth a try as the window is very expensive to replace but unless you could prove some sort of accidental damage the insurance wouldn't pay out   We have the same big window on our ranger which we really like but I don't know why it should crack unless the sun overheated it with the blind down

I think that's what's happened as the sun gets really hot on the front of our house. We have used gaffa tape on it as recommended by caravan service man. Now just to wait for the quotes! Insurance didn't want to know - what a surprise!

common problem with these full windows, bailey know about it and have changed a few.depends on how old yours is.think its up to three years but dont quote me.believe its wind pressure on tow that cracks them.notice they dont fit them now.try insurance co. first.

failing this www.eeco-ltd.co.uk

Thanks for that, ours is 2004 so too old for bailey to do. Will have a look at that company. Cheers :)

sorry it will not be cheap,i know i had three made some years ago.you would need to remove the window and sheet up fully for two weeks.they pick up and deliver back to you.you also need to remove the fittings before you send it.they will give you a quote. right hand side find your window and it give you the size and number to quote.
