I've just bought a Al ko 3004 and installed it on my caravan. (all as per the instructions) For some reason the bar that the hitch attaches to seems to have some movement when i lift it up and drop it. Its only slight knocking but it definitely feels like it should be tighter or more rigid in some way. I've also removed the A frame cover and re torqued all the nuts and bolts attaching the a frame to the chassis. Maybe some grease of some sort or a replacement bush could sort it out? I've never noticed it before but i haven't really looked. With out next trip being our main holiday in Cornwall do you think it's reason for concern or is this pretty standard?
Thanks very much
Simon

Did you need to use any of the spacers with the hitch? If so, check that you used the correct size spacer, as the wrong size one will give you the movement you are experiencing.

I didn't need any shims when attaching the new hitch it was a snug fit, the whole unit (hitch and drawbar move together). The problem seems to be further down the drawbar where it goes into the A frame. I noticed two grease points on top of the drawbar so i went to halfords and bought myself a grease gun and some grease, the only problem now it the damn grease gun wont fit the grease ports on the drawbar so its coming out from the side.... I think i'm fighting a losing battle!!

I don't know which grease gun you bought but most high pressure guns need really pushing hard on nipple and you will feel it click and lock on, then grease should not be coming out of side,They then need a bit of a side ways twist to pull them off again

Thanks for that birdman, i finally got the gun to sit on the zirks and i've pumped them with grease. To start with the shaft seems solid but after moving it up and down ten or so more times it starts to work loose. Could this possibly be a internal bush or bearing that needs replacing or would it need the parts in question replacing?
Many thanks
Simon
