Hi all, ive been searching internet for ideas on fixing my van. This site seens like it has alot of good diyers.
I picked up and 86 Swift Corniche 14/2E for £100, including flat screen tv, toilet/chems, bottle of gas, wing mirrors.
It has a few issues for for £100 am sure i can get money back if its to far gone.
Heres the main problems.
Offside floor is weak around the jack, floor moves up when jacked up, rest of floor on van seems solid.
Looking through the gas bottle compartment there is a gap in each lower corner between side of van and centre.
Nearside wall below window and up the side towards front has had damp for somtime, it looks like someone has remove some of the wood frame and placed a couple bits in and alot of silicone, and had put board over the old damp wall. The wall isnt my main concren, its the frame or lack of it? There is other smaller issues but ill leave them to later, if i can fix the main problems i can do the rest, id like to try takle this if it was repairable, ill add a couple pictures of the nearside, let me know your thoughts. Any help is appreciated.
I seems as if you have a similar problem to me, i put a post on here yesterday asking for help but nothing yet (check out my post lbwerve) maybe we should exchange notes, i have now removed all the kichen units it looks as if i will have to go it alone, lit me know what you think regards Len
