It's horrible stuff that gets left behind by the Cris sticker. The only stuff that shifted it for me was 'Stick Stuff Remover' as Grampian91 suggested above.

This is the one that I used, although I think I got it from Ebay.
It's a liquid that you wipe on with a cloth and then leave for a few mins. This CRIS sticker still took a bit of shifting, but nothing else I tried would touch it.

Reregister your van at CRIS about £13.00( three years ago? ) ask them to send you anew sticker, they did for me adge11

I had the same problem of te CRiS sticker coming off and leaving a glue mess... Called CRiS and they charged me £4:80 for a new sticker they also suggested using non carbonate toothpaste to remove the old glue
(Saw in this thread that meths or acetone ( nail varnish remover) was suggested,,, be VERY cautious those dont ruin the plastic window)
