Have recently purchased an old ambassador gt caravan which i am slowly repairing as rear wall damp etc. Am well adversed in damp repair and carpentry but a total newbie when it comes to electrics and before I refit new interior want basic info on rewiring caravan (idiots guide from start to finish) does anyone know of any useful links, videos or websites to explain all this from top to bottom? Any help would be much appreciated.

Well, My best advice is to visit Swift caravan website and look in the archives for a user manual. These come with wiring diagrams . Here is a link:-

 This should at least give you a idea of things.

I am not aware of such a thing as an "...idiots guide.." for electrical rewiring.

As you will need both 12v and 240v systems, strongly recommend getting professional help with this.
