Hi everyone, happy new year, I need to replace the worktop edgings next to my cooker, to do this the top of the cooker needs to come off to access fixing screws, it looks like I just have to remove the burners then the top metal plate with the burner holes in ? Any advice would be welcome, the van's a 2001 challenger. Ta.

Thanks Jeff, I've got the trims, it's how to get the top off the cooker I'm stuck on.

Hi hacko.
This is from another site from some one with the same van...

My wife did the same but with an AA battery taken out of our childs toy. The battery rolled off the glass lid into the recess at the back of the cooker. This happened on the first day of the holiday, so I had a choice eith not use the oven or try to retrieve it

It took 2 of us to remove the oven the best we can, I wouldn't recommend trying yourself as it took us hours. However we found the battery had fallen down the recess and was sitting on top of the heating element of the gille.

To get to this we had to remove the grill handle and glass door then remove a piece of metal trim that ran along the top of the roof of the grill. Removal of this allowed me to get to the grill burner and remove the battery.

This took 2 off us (I am glad we were away with friends) a couple of hours with a lot of swearing and cut fingers.

It was a stoves oven if it helps, good luck.
