Hi
I have just purchased this caravan and i am delighted with it..However, I have noticed that the sealant adjoining the awning rail (when looking at it from the rear) is cracking.
Is there a quick fix, temporary repair etc that i can do until I can afford a proper repair which I assume requires removal and refitting of the awning rail...thank you

Yes, just put a bead of PU sealant around it. Should permanently fix it. You do need PU sealant though like Silkaflex 512. Silicone sealant is not up to it. Not much shelf life once open & cartridge of PU sealant is £7-£12 so clean up all seals around caravan with meths & pump in sealant wherever it looks weak.

Tbh, with a 20yr old caravan, the idea is just to keep it patched up & in use. Its not really worth spending vast amouts of time & money doing major repairs. The more you take apart, the more horrors you uncover.

Hi and thank you for your prompt response and comments. I agree totally with your advice and will follow it up once we have a warm and dry day (is that possible lol). I will order a tube of Silkaflex 512 off the internet.
I really appreciate your comments, kindest regards, Gordon
