Hi guys,

I have a 25 year old Trophy Agilic 2 berth that has given us good service for the little we paid for it 2 years ago but it does have some rot in the timbers below the front window and around the side. The front wall is no pretty flexy and coming away in the corners. I'm not a natural DIY-er but I am prepared to spend a little time on it. I'd welcome your input on whether this is worth it or should I just scrap it and get another £500 jobby?

Here are some pics.

The last two photos show the inside of the locker walls, the horizontal wood strip is completely rotten but the floor seems to be fine. Looking at the front of the van, it looks to me like I can just remove the front bumper, locker door, and panel up to the bottom of the window. The wood structure under the window looks like it has been replaced already.

So, what do you think?

Lorcan

You may be lucky in getting another van for £500 which is drier, that means checking it over with a damp meter incase you end up with worse than you have got.

On the other hand, breaking the one you have, can earn you a few bob.Selling the windows, toilet, upholstery and even the chassis is worth more than what a scrap merchant would give you.

Guys that are converting vans into motor homes is big business now.
