I am having a problem with my Carver Fanmaster 4000 heater. It works fine on gas but when I try to use it on electric it works for only 2 to 4 minutes before it trips the circuit breaker on the mains supply. I was told that this fault could be cured by operating the heater on gas for a few hours. I have tried this for two 8 hour periods with no improvement in the heater. I have the same fault. Can anyone offer any advice?

The advice is good but 8hrs is minimal, try 24hrs and it's essential to have fan running

Usually the elements are damp after winter and just need to be dried out, they may though be physically broken so feel for them behind the gas fire or use a mirror with a torch to check they are intact.

Have tried heater on gas with fan for 39 hours.
No change in fault, still tripping the circuit breaker in my garage where I have the caravan plugged in.
Have removed heater and inspected elements. No visible sign of damage. No short circuit showing on meter.Cleaned fan blades as they were quite dusty. Refitted heater. Fault still present on electric setting. Tripped the circuit breaker after 1 minute. Can't understand what fault may be.
Any suggestions?

Welcome along to the Forum.
Ken Yorke has not posted since 2014, so I think you will be out of luck with a reply.

I would suggest you contact Gary at Arc Systems, he will be able to help.

XVI yes?

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
