It shouldn't set hard if it's still in the tube plus there should be a small cone cover that fits over the nozzle to avoid it going hard anyway. I have had a tube of 'Seamseal CV' which is the same as Sikaflex for about 5 years now and had to use it about 6 months ago but the sealant inside was still useable. If you are using a triggered application gun then you also need to press the release trigger off after each individual run of sealant application to terminate the pressure from within the tube.

Try pushing a nail or screw in to the nozzle to seal.A trick my Dad taught me years ago. I don't know how long it keeps for but does work.

Hi sikaflex will set hard, also even without opening as it has a short shelf life check this date on the cartridge before you buy it. once used remove nozzle clean out nozzle with a bit of rag and a stick, then put a piece of polythene over end of cartridge and screw nozzle back on to make a seal. but it wont keep for long.

Cling film wrapped over around the end makes an air tight seal.

I found that works....
