Hi All,

Just found some evidence of current or previous damp issues in my Van. Its 2004 Lunar Quasar 615.

The evidence I have found is very soft part of the wall on the rear left corner just above the lower fixed bunk bed.

Looks like either coming from side or rear awning rear. No staining on the wallpaper but the wallboard is very soft in places.

I'm going to remove and reseal all the rails with mastic and sikaflex and new screws etc...

My question is about replacing the interior wallboard, can i just remove the soft area and cut a new piece to fit the hole? Prob talking about 2ft by 2ft piece. Or do I need to remove the total panel? Obviously will be dependent on timber on the inside.

What is the wall of this van constructed from? what is behind the wallboard? Polystyrene? or cavity?

The van will still be in use for a the next couple of months then I will look at repairing it, whats the best thing to temp seal the parts of the rail around the damp areas to stop further ingress? or is it not worth it?

Cheers for any advice.

Regards
Al
