Today we went to our van to remove bedding and get it ready for the winter! We found a few mouse dropping and one seat cushion with a big hole and the back of the seat cushion was eaten too!
Any tip for preventing this? We are going to go back again next weekend and have a good look around and leave mouse traps!
Does anyone have any recommendations on places that recover seats?
Thank you

make sure you have mesh over the floor vents and also any outlet from sink and shower etc.Check the wholevan and make sure you have no holes or damage where they may get in.As mentioned above, they dont need much space, and they will be back if they ever left at all. They need to be gone a s a p or they can do a few quids worth of damage,
Thanks everyone, going to go back with traps etc.
going to remove all the cushions and bring them home!
Yes bob61 there's holes in 2 cushions, will have a good check before I bring them in the house!

Only problem with poison is that they can crawl into some awkward places to die and you may not be able to find them. I would use a trap or get a pest controller in.
ok a couple of years back we had the same problem in our caravan, caught it before they did any damage luckily, but what we did do was get the van home and remove ever last thing from it and thoroughly clean it due to the weeing over everything can make you ill, while at home plugged the sonic scares in, and before putting things back in put our jack russel in the caravan! she found nothing! we then got under the van and used steel mesh to cover over every vent/hole that we could, I then put tape over the central heating ducts as we would know if they where in there that way, (roast mouse anyone?) put the gear back in the van and returned back to storage armed with several tins of jeyes fluid and a watering can, and before the van went back on its pitch through soaked the whole area over, and once replaced the van soaked the legs and wheels with it too, mice use their wee to smell their way back home. the traps where set with peanut butter and mars bars, I was back and forth every day, and nothing was found, then after 2 weeks went away only to open the under bed box and find a deceased one! in the trap. good luck in getting rid, but please don't leave your van for a week they will do one heck of a lot of damage in that time
Here's an update, we went the following day and put poison down and left it 5 days then went back and all the poison had been eaten! (No bodies found)
We brought home every cushion and I boxed all the pots up. We put more poison down and went today(a week later) no more poison has been eaten!
I'm going to give it a really good clean and wash all carpets and cushions early in the spring before our first trip x

I would advise to get it done sooner than that! like I said they use smell to locate the trail, if you don't clean it now then they will just smell the wee and follow it back, and don't be fooled by no bodies, like I said we thought we had got rid but moved the van and sure enough one of them was found in the trap
In a early posting on this site I mentioned that while on a site about ten vans had visits from mice's and all the unlucky people had dogs in their vans. must like dog food like hedgehogs.
A great number of vans have plastic grills over the gas leak drop out vents in the floor but not all vans are mouse sealed in the front locker get up between abs or glassfibre font into locker then squeeze in through cable or gas pipe hole.
mice can squeeze through a 10 mm square hole no problem.
