Hi,

We recently bought a late 80's early 90's ABI Jubilee Globetrotter, was a little bit damp in a couple of places but for the cost we were willing to take a gamble and try to sort out the damp patches.

The patches we saw I should be able to fix (very similar to this one, however, somehow we missed a huge wet patch in the shower / toilet area. I have stripped the wall and found that all the timbers are soaked. I am confident I can repair them but there is one I am unsure about, the bottom one I can't see it!!

I assume I need to remove a few inches from the floor to get to it, is that correct?

I have traced the cause(s) back to top seam (assume it was there as affixed some duct tape and so far seems to be drying out), the grab handle has also been leaking so temproarily put some caravan mastic around it until the timbers are sorted. The biggest culprit though was the previous owners bodge repair of the shower tray.... they filled the gap with newspaper and a bit of filler with spray paint over the top. Needless to say the floor was soaked when we removed the tray although surprisingly it actually seems solid.
