Hi, Removed cassette and checked the feed into the compartment, a red and a black wire, live. Next checked the fuse and holder, when flush button pressed power shows on 12 volt tester. Circuit board on top of toilet also checked. Any ideas.

If the pump is running you can usually hear it. It is accessed through the door that opens to remove the cassette, on mine it is on the right hand side where it clips into place, just follow the tubing up.

Removed the pump, after cutting wire, tested on car battery, pumps fine. Next course of action, one gallon of mr esso's finest and a box of swan vesta's. Passing caravaner asks allright mate?". Not really been on with this toilet for three days and still won't flush. Right lets have a look he says, pump checked and working?, yes mate, fuse at back checked?, yes and a new one fitted just in case, circuit board in top of toilet?, checked and working, must be the connections to the circuit board then, examines the block connector, connections all corroded, there you are mate, that's the problem, squirt of wd 40 no luck, can't strip these down mate you need a new wiring harness. Now we have another problem, wiring harness comes complete with pump, you can't just buy the wiring harness, according to my very friendly dealer, £68 including p/p. Fitted new harness and pump, happy to report toilet now flushes. Thanks for the help. Apparently thetford changed the design after countless pump failures and other problems.

i have a similar problem in my hobby caravan , wont flush but can here a faint motor sound also the light fitting in toilet dims when trying to flush. any ideas would be welcome.
Hi
I have a problem with my Thetford which flushes on its own!! I can see that there is corrosion on the plug which connects to the control panel, which has been replaced but fault continues. It looks like the wiring looms need to be replaced which I see that you have done.
Are there any instructions for doing this or if not how did you do it?
Any help would be much appreciated
The wiring harness including pump is about £32 from them. You can just trace each wire back to its source one at a time and replace it untill they are all exchanged, new for old.
