1st caravan.

Was wondering if it is normal to have a gap between the rubbers in the middle of my awning rail.

If not will rubbers need replacing or a small piece added.

Also. When replacing an awning rail should I use mastic strip only?

Yes it is normal as the rail comes off in two parts..
Unless the awning rail is leaking i would just leave it unless you fancy some work as its not easy for first timers .

Fair bit of damp. Think the awning rails have been leaking for some time. Lot of damp in different places

Just done the awning rail on our very old Swift Danette. Took old one off(lots of new screws needed) cleaned thoroughly with white spirit then used Sikaflex to reseal. Very happy with the result. Difficulty scale,1 to 10, I'd say 6.
