Can anyone please tell me the size of star key that fits the main mounting bolts that hold the hitch and the damper in place

From memory you need a T55 Torx bit for use with 3/8 or half inch drive socket. Halfords should stock them.

Sorry mis read i was thinking of size for replacing pads .The one for the hitch is TX55
