hi my friend has just brought a caravan and i'm just introducing them to this site, in the meantime, what should they do regarding the water system, which has not been used for some time?

eg cleaning, testing or other...thanks

The best thing I can suggest is to run some diluted miltons solution or tablets through the whole system and leave it for a while.  Fill the Aqua roll and add the relevant amount of miltons, details on pack for sterilising, and let the pump fill the system.  Run some out through the taps, hot and cold, and leave it for an hour.  Then flush*t through with a full, fresh water only, aqua roll.  If the van has a taste filter fitted then be sure to replace this as the age is unknown. They should be changed once a year anyway.  Any bugs will be dead and it will be safe.
