ive got a cheap genni and am thinking about battery charging whilst away on a week long trip without hook up.
do i
1, run the battery charger i have in the garage to charge the van battery, without exposing the vans electrics to the cheap gennis out put
2, buy some sort of buffer and connect the genni to the van giving us mains power for a while, and charge the battery
3, throw caution to the wind and plug it in directly.
If its a cheap non regulated genny I would disconnect battery from the caravan & charge the battery via a separate battery charger connected to the genny just to be sure that possible spike voltage could not damage the caravans electrics
do what old chap as said.
Unless it's a good high spec geni.
Been there got the T- Shirt blow my in board charger on my old coachman 2 times on cheap geni being used. Lesson learnt.
