Spent the weekend cleaning up my rescued 95 Coachman caravan and it has come up lovely. It obviously has its knocks and scrapes but it is 1995!! It's really very tidy and all the gas, blown air heating, hot water and electrics work. Unbelievable considering it's been sat it a field for 2 years!

Anyway...the roof down to the front had lots of green moss on it but it has cleaned off, however, the paintwork is very dull. I have tried showroom shine but it hasn't done anything, would you recommend using autoglym super resin polish or something like that?

I cleaned my caravan roof over the weekend and the easiest way to remove the green algae is with Fenwick's 'Caravan Cleaner' diluted with water and a soft paint brush as not to dislodge the waterproof sealant. I also used 'Showroom Shine' afterwards which I applied with a normal micro-fibre cloth and then a soft micro-fibre buffing cloth and mine came up quite nice. You could apply car polish but the painted surface is only microns thick so anything abrasive is best avoided otherwise it's another repair job. If you do try car polish then just do a small area first and see what the effects are in terms of dulling.

To get the paintwork back shining again i would try Autoglym super resin polish. I used it on my caravan roof and for the past 9 months it has left my caravan roof with a lovely shine.

I use washing powder to give it a good clean twice a year, removes any green and black marks, followed by a good polish with autoglym
works a treat for me.
