hi,how long does it take to fully charge a caravan leisure battery? And do I need it on a site with EHU?

How long is a piece of string?
It all depends on how discharged the battery is and what rate charger you are connecting up to re-charge it.
Regarding the second part of your question about needing a battery when connected to a mains hook up is debatable as some say you do and some say not.

Are you using a standard car battery charger or a smart charger specifically designed for charging leisure batteries?

Battery discharge Ah rate x chargers output rate.

If you need to put 100amps into a battery with a 2amp charger then 50 hours+

Dont forget that a lot of chargers lower the charge rate as the battery becomes fully charged.

Do you need a battery on site, depends on your charger and how you will cope if the power goes out on the site.

I would always have a battery fitted, even if it was just a small car one. Any 12v battery is better than none.
