a transformer (10 years old!) has gone in our Compass caravan. I'm now hunting a new one…. it's a 20A, 1214 power type, with a serial number 130778. I spy a few on eBay but they seem to be 2014 power type…. being new to this, I don't know what the difference is and was hoping someone could explain it?
Quite often parts that were fitted to older caravans are now obsolete. My transformer packed up on my previous caravan last year and I couldn't find an identical transformer either and the ones shown on the net were no longer in stock. I took the transformer to a local camping and caravanning outlet and asked them for advice to which they explained that they make copies of the older ones but listed under a different number especially if the original manufacturer ceased trading and another company took over. That way I got the right transformer with help from the professionals.
