Hi, has anyone ever been advised not to store 4 pint milk containers in the caravan fridge? Our door catch isn't working correctly and the dealers have said the door has dropped, they suggest it is our fault for putting the milk in the door but surely this is what it's for?
Never heard of this before but if the fridge door has dropped then it means that the hinges have slipped down which means they must be adjustable to align with the door catch. Yes, it could be related to excess weight in the fridge door but the cause of it is that the hinges probably wern't that tight to start off with.
No, we also put 4 pint bottles in the fridge but always put them on the hinge side, we do the same thing in the home fridge, they are very heavy and worried about the same thing happening if we put them the other side.
I doubt they have 'dropped'. There is usually a flat plate screwed to top and bottom with a hinge pin attached to the plates-the actual set up may vary, but this is to allow for the door being able to be swapped over form one side to the other. I would guess the top plate has some available side to side adjustment available to align the door. Chances are this has become loose under the weight, but you will have to pull the fridge out a few cms to reveal the screws, as these are usually hidden behind the woodwork.
We put 4 pints in ours, and this last weekend a 6 pinter,with no problems.
They just trying to get out of it.
No where in the paper work says you cannot have them?
