Hi all,
just wondering is having a bit of damp so bad? Have often wondered if people get a bit paranoid about it.
I know a lot of people have their caravans sited, but wonder if they constantly check for damp, and if it is really a megga problem? My 2007 caravan, (not sited) is going in to have damp repairs done, and i worry that it will come back.
I wondered if putting a good sealant around everything would prevent it, though a caravan repairer told me not to. I dont understand why it wouldnt help?
Any thoughts please?

As part of the repair work the repair should incorporate stopping the water ingress and drying out. A damp report is usually part of a caravan service and a report should be given to you indicating the readings and areas that were checked. I think most people will say if its not broke don't fix it. There is a thought that if you put sealant over an area that has been leaking unless its dried out the rot may be accelerated because the dampness is locked in and can't evaporate.
