Looking for advice please....
We have a new to us 2011 Stirling Eccles Ruby we have had it around 4 months and have noticed a problem with a leak this weekend we haven't noticed it previously. A small amount of water seems to leak from under the kitchen tap into the draw situated underneath. On investigation we can see this happens when the hot water is running, as I said not an extensive drip / leak. My other half took the tap off, it all looks in a good state of repair, he checked using a bowl of water and submerging the tap and hoses for possible air leaks but nothing was apparent. We put the tap on again last night thinking that it was maybe a general tighten up was all that was needed but this morning....the drip is back!

As it only happens when the tap is opened and only on the hot side guess is that there is something wrong with either the seal of tap cartridge inside the top of the tap itself.
The 'open' side is low pressure so perhaps it's leaking from the chamber where it sits and slowly seeping down the thread of the mounting rod.

If it's that then the good news is that they are readily available and an easy fit, you will need an allen key of the correct size (about 3mm if I recall correctly)to remove the tap handle. There is usually a little blanking cover that indicates hot/cold hiding the allen screw. Then its a case of unscrewing the silver ring and the big nut that holds the cartridge in place.
I bought a spare cartridge fron a well known auction site for £1.99 recently, there are loads of different sizes & fittings so best look at the original first. Or you could buy a complete new tap.

Dave.
