Hi
Just been to spend a penny and gave a little push on the electric switch on the top of the toilet to give a little flush and it wouldn't stop!! Mass panic in the van it did eventually stop after all of the water had been pumped out. Now if you press it it flushes for about 2 seconds then grumbles to a halt.
To my uneducated mind could the switch be sticking? If so, how would we cure that any ideas? Thanks in advance.

the switch must have stuck but if you run the pump dry for too long it will burn it out..

the good side is another pump is pretty cheap if you dont buy the branded one.. i replaced mine recently it was about £8 quid i think..

You could disconnect the switch and operate the pump by shorting the two wires with each other. If the pump will start/stop instantly, then the switch is likely to be faulty, and only a new switch is required. Otherwise it would mean a new pump. But work through the simplest (cheapest?) solutions first.
Bertie.

It just needs the switch replacing if you travel with water in your flush tank it splashes all over the switch corodeing it.
It’s an easy job you get new wire crimps and heat shrink to protect the connection

Debbie, depends on which toilet you have, it could be a dirty connection at the top of the tank if it has the PCB or it could be dirt on the reed switch behind the waste tank, both worth checking
