Hi all,
Last weekend I was out for the weekend with no EHU so was using 12v when we arrived the ignition on the cooker was working but then stopped after a while. I was working on replacing the heater element around the same time but had the power off could this have contributed to the ignition failure?
Regards
Gordon
I am a little confused. What element were you replacing?
If the ignition on your cooker was working and then it wasn't and it works off the 12 volt supply, I would suspect the battery voltage had dropped too low.

I was replacing the 230v water heating element. The battery was full and I have solar panel.
I see. This would have no bearing whatsoever on the cooker ignition unless the cooker ignition was mains powered. However, if it was it would only work when you are on hook-up. If the cooker ignition works off battery then the water heating element is irrelevant.
If the battery if fully charged, the fault must lie with the ignition system, and the fact that it happened when you were working on the water heater is just a coincidence.
