You should have something like this on your windows.

SG E S 5WP EL N Then a 7 digit serial number.

Here's how the above decodes;

SG = Built in UK
E = Optional manufacturers information
S = Single axle
5WP = Optional manufacturers information
EL = Elddis
N = 1992 (Built between Sept 1991 & August 1992)

That is how I know my caravan is a 1992 model. It's the last letter before the serial number that tells you. I bought our caravan from a dealer who told me it was a 1994, so even they get it wrong.

If there is no code like this on the windows a caravan would be pre-1991, like our previous one.

I wouldn't have thought that a 1999 model would have a Whale water inlet as the OP says it has. A model of that year would definitely have a Carver inlet unless the previous owner has changed it at some point. It's confusing anyway because the OP initially said that the pump wasn't working at all but was on their granny's caravan but now the OP said that the pump is clicking which is likely to be the pressure switch. However, on a Whale inlet I think the pressure switch is bult into the inlet itself so a lot need confirming by the OP to all that have answered as no progress has been made in solving the water pump problem at all.

I think the O/P said that the taps were clicking, not the pump, which would suggest microswitches. The pump worked on his granny's caravan, but not on his own, so that suggests the problem lies with his caravan's electrics.

It is difficult to assume what water input is involved as many of that age get changed. The 1988 Elddis Tornado I sold a couple of years back had a Truma Ultraflow inlet, because I fitted it. The original was badly damaged.
