We have a swift challenger and the electric heating has stopped working. The van has a truma ultraheat system and when we turn it on at the control panel the green light comes on and then dims and goes out. Can anyone help me with this problem.
Sorry can’t be of any help but I have the same problem with a Swift Challenger 510 2006. Have tried the remote room sensor i.e unplugged it and checked for obvious loose wires etc but no joy. My problem started with the green light going out just after turning the heat selection knob with no heat, but now i get no light at all and no heat. Gas heater and electric blower all works fine.
The little green light is an indidation that the low voltage used for controlling the relays is present, no light = no power = no heat. They do often suffer from dry solder joints on this little PCB at the rear of the fire. The hardest job is removing the relay control board to have a look. ALWAYS have mains OFF when working in this area.
The other common reason for no green light is that the step-down transformer mounted on the same board has gone, the originals were slightly underrated power wise and overheated therefore causing it to bulge out at the top.

Cheers Dave,
Could well be my transformer then, took the grey cover off and looking at the transformer it looked a bit black around the base as if it had blown. Is there a better transformer I can get hold of?
Hi, I've got a swift charisma 2008. Green light on the controls initially came on then went off.
Thought possibly the battery as I've had it before where the 12v devices wouldn't work until fully charged.
Everything in the van is working apart from the electric heater. Been trying to access the back but can't even remove the drawer (white plastic clips which seem to not be doing much). Just wanted to check connections and see what voltages I've got or haven't got.....might be easier to call a caravan repair company out 🙃🙃
Hi and welcome to the forum. Unfortunately it does seem like either a dry joint on the PCB or the low voltage transformer has blown, a pretty common occurrence on earlier models I'm afraid. If you can't gain access then I think a mobile repair guy will be required with more practical knowledge and experience in getting the repair done. You don't need to purchase a new PCB complete, the company in this link do a refurbished unit much cheaper.
