Hi All
We have just arrived for our first outing since lockdown to find that the water and heating won't work on electric. Gas is fine. Any suggestions why this may be? The van has recently been serviced.
ok exactly what did you do on arrival? did you make sure the drain tap on the heater was closed before filling with water from the aquaroll? and then removed any air from the system by turning the tap in the bathroom on til the water stops spitting and the same with the kitchen taps? only then do you turn the water heater on. however your central heating should still be working regardless of water heater, so have you checked the fuses?, turned on the master switch on your console?
Start at the beginning, Is there power from the mains supply through the EHU cable into the van?
Is there a master power switch. Switched on.
If yes then check the RCD, MCB trip switches are all on.
Then check the appropriate fuses.
Let’s us all know how you get on, it’s a matter of elimination., it may be that when serviced a switch has been turned off .
Thanks Basa.
We have just rechecked everything and all you have suggested seems to be in order. According to the troubleshooting guide the fault code W45H which is showing in the Truma control panel, apparently means 'no 230V operating voltage'. The solution is to restore the 230V operating voltage whatever that may mean!

When we had a caravan and the hot water wouldn't work on electrics after a layup I often found emptying and refilling the water heater helped as you can get air locks in the boiler. Might be worth a try.
Thank you all for your information. We spoke to our service man at home this morning and he says a fuse has gone on the water heater which we cannot get to. It will be sorted out next week when we get home. In the meantime, gas to the rescue!
