I sent my pcb board away to be checked, thought was a problem with relays came back all ok, it turned out it was the 2 small thermostats
The size of a 5p. Replaced & all ok fitted a remote sensor from Garry ARCSYSTEMS as been perfect for 2yrs. Last night same thing happened again no heat from heater but green light on & clicking relays. Do you think these 2 small thermisters have burnt out again, or should these last longer than this or is it a common problem.
It's doubtful that all 3 relays have gone at the same time and I reckon the little overtemp cut-outs are probably still ok. Do you get ANY heat on ANY setting? (Blower off) The little push-on spade connectors to the cut-outs also have a habit of failing too.
The good news is that the control circuit is working so there isn't a great deal left in circuit, BTW, the heaters are pretty bombproof so I wouldn't suspect them.
It may simply be that one relay after another has failed, they were ok 2 years ago but the contacts may have burned out with use. Pretty cheap to buy and replace, access to them can be a pain but you have already had the PCB out. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Just got pcb out also spade conectors connected to 5p thermostat are burnt out, you said that these tend to fail what do you do to keep them fail safe. Will renew thermostat s bit unsure regarding spade connectors, dont want this to happen again.
Like so many other things in life there are cheap nasty ones and well made but more costly alternatives. Get good quality connectors like those made by AMP at CPC electronics, these are worth buying, plus, if you do, and I can't emphisise this more, beg, borrow, steal or buy propper ratchet crimp pliers to crimp them with.
Cheap crimps are ok in a low current use, the 2KW fire is not a suitable use.
Failing that I'd even solder the wires on carefully. Push on spades are there for ease of assembly, do it once and do it right.

The limit stats are actually good quality, failure is due to vibration generally caused by unbalanced wheels and or over inflated tyres.
What happens is stats male connections are rivited and initially it's vibration working them loose, this in turn causing high resistance directly heating the rivit and damaging the plastic body of the stat and they break up.
The wires female connections could also be less than very firmly tight on the male which would have a similar result, but I've not personally come across that
That's a good update Gary, so they are initially quality items but the rivets on them fail due to the wires to them flexing excessively due to vibration?
You will have seen more of these than anyone elso on the forum so a font of knowledge, if this should be the case, is there any way of supporting the wires in situe?

Sorry for slow reply Dave but you have the wrong end of the stick, flexible wires will absorb vibration not transmit it, no then vibration is acting direct on the stats. As a matter of fact, if you ever wondered why truma launched the 3004 gas fire? the only difference is the 3004 fires heavier base plate and the cause of damage to the 3002 original, directly related to this problem!!
However unless the OP failed to balance his wheels? Id suspect somewhat loose spade connections directly caused the repeat.
