I'm new to caravan maintenance, but it looks like I might be getting some practice at it as my daughter has just bought an old van which she hopes to 'do up' and have permanently sited to use throughout the year, so it won't be towed. My first question is regarding a springy floor, I see there are epoxy kits for this, but wouldn't waterproof PVA injected into the plywood repair the delamination at a much reduced cost? I know when I've used waterproof PVA in other woodworking jobs it is extremely strong. Thanks in advance. Bob.
Hi Bob, perhaps, is the only answer I can give. The thing about the epoxy stuff is that it foams up and fills in the viods under a little bit of pressure, even flowing uphill to do it. I'm not sure the PVA glue will be as efficient and if it doesn't work you may not be able to get the epoxy stuff into everywhere like it would have previously.
My gut feeling is this, if there was a cheaper alternative it would have been used, and in any case it's not that expensive and does a good job.
