end of bed broke on a 2012 Lunar Lexan 420



any advice where to get replacement have not not got the tools to cut my self
its 29 inch wide

10 inches at fin end and10.5 max not to worried about profile
1/2 inch deep

You could try somewhere like B&Q or Wickes where they cut wood to your specific size.

Unless you buy the exact replacement board, you need a bit of board of sorts from a DIY outlet. Then a kindly neighbour with a jigsaw. If you dont want the shaped top, any decent saw - electric or otherwise.

It's quite easy to make an identical headboard by using the existing one as a pattern. The headboard is placed on top of the new plywood face down then with a 2H pencil draw around the perimeter which includes the large radius profile at the top so no measuring involved. You can buy a cheap hand saw for under a fiver just to cut the new headboard but you will need a sheet of medium grade sandpaper to remove the rough edges either side. For a final professional finish just apply a light coloured stain then varnish with about 3 coats of varnish, sanding each dry coat with a very smooth grade of sandpaper and wiping over with white spirit.

You could always ask a timber yard to cut the shape for you, most will do it ?
Then you stain / varnish it .

We had the same thing happen in our Lunar but fortunately it was in warranty so was replaced. We made an extra piece of wood that fits underneath to add strength.
