Hi, I have recently bought a 1998 bailey pageant champagne. It has a folding sink cover that has at some point lost it's hinges. Can anyone tell me what the hinges look like and if possible where I can get some.
Is the folding sink cover made of glass or is it a timber cover?
The types of hinges would most likely be different for the two types of covers so it would help to know which of the two it is.
As the folding cover is made of a wooden construction you will most likely find that they are standard brass door hinges and screws so that they don't rust. However, you need to measure the thickness of the cover then purchase some brass hinges of the same dimensions from the centre swivel pin which you should be able to buy at most DIY outlets such as 'B&Q' or 'Wickes' for example. Most likely the screw holes have opened up and no longer will accept the screws that's why the hinges are missing which if this is the case then just obtain some doweling then drill the holes to the same diameter in the existing screw holes. Cut the dowels to length then glue them in with some wood adhesive and leave for 24 hours then drill the pilot holes in the centre of each dowel and fix on the new hinges.
Thanks, I will do that. Is it a normal cranked hinge that I need then? I assume that the cranked part needs to be high enough to lift the cover past the lip of the sink which is about 12mm?

Yes they should be a standard cranked hinges but if the sink stands proud of the worktop just get a straight edge such as a steel rule and place it along the sink top then measure the gap from the sink to the worktop. If the gap measures 12mm. then just make some spacers about 13mm. (1/2 inch) then place them between the hinge and worktop before fixing in place. Making the spacers slightly higher will enable the drop down worktop to lie flat without any upward pressure on the fixing screws.
