With the lockdowns and all the other turmoil of the last few years our caravan has been sat in storage and we rather foolishly didn't check on it as often as we should have.

Caravan is now out of storage and on the drive but after it rained this morning I went into the van and noticed some water under one of the windows.

On closer inspection it seems it must have been leaking while it's been in storage as we now have some soft areas around the bottom of that window.
Fortunately it seems only a fairly small area is affected - an inch or two intermittently along the length of the window.

This afternoon I have resealed the window which I hope will prevent any further water getting in but my question is what is the best way to address the soft spots?

A lot depends on how long the water has been wetting the ply, if it is rotten it needs replacing and it may have had an effect on the supporting timbers too. However, it may just be recent and just needs drying out. Getting behind the wall board covering in an area that doesn't show could give you a clue as to weather it has gone mouldy, that really needs addressing as it will get worse.
