Recently I’ve noticed the water from the tap in the shower room is not running very well. I unscrewed the filter off the tap and it has a fair amount of black gunge in it. I’ve rinsed a lot off but is there some simple way of dissolving the reast of it?
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.

Soaking the blocked part in white vinegar is worth trying, it worked well on our shower head.

Thanks, I'll try that. I don't want to buy anything special but I have white vinegar.

That will work OK but will not get to the source of the problem. The gungy stuff is in the system and is merely being collected at the shower head.
You need to use the proper stuff otherwise it will simply come back. Puriclens at the start of every season!

Thanks,
We have had the caravan for three years and have been away for about 290 nights and this is the first that I've noticed the problem. I'll try to avoid chemicals in my water unless I have to use them.
