Hi i have a 2003 Bailey Ranger 510/5 that has structural damage after getting water ingress. I have removed board to the front right window up to the wall and removed the rotten wood. It looks like the front roof strap screws into the top piece of wood on the internal frame.
A couple or questions i could do with help on.

To replace the top piece of wood on the frame it looks like i need to remove the shelf that goes across the front to access, anyone any ideas how to remove? is it attached to the van exterior by screws or just at the ends to the side cupboards.

Are the frames for the internal wall board attached to the front panel?

its attached to the internal wall, through the framing, before the external covering it put on, the only way to remove is to get a hacksaw blade or thinner and "feel" for the screws and cut them off, replacing the cupboards requires some carefully placed/hidden fixings

Hi and welcome to the forum. I had occasion to have to remove some overhead lockers to fix a water ingress problem on my 2009 Bailey, I needed to gain accrss to where the roof strap, front and side wall all converged. It turned out that a mild steel screw had been used instead of a stainless one and after years of rusting it was getting thinner, allowing more and more water through.
As already mentioned, there are some hidden screws but most are get-at-able, they may not be obvious or easily accessed as it was likely to have been assembled before the walls went on.

Try sliding a very thin blade down the back of the shelf panelwork and it is likely you will hear a clunk as you come up against the shaft of a hidden screw. As Marg6 says they need careful cutting and an alternative way of fixing when rebuilding. I also had a couple of Tri Fold rivets that fixed my brackets to the wall board that I had to replace.

Front to side joining is usually done with the awning rail screws going through all three.

Dave.
