Not long ago joined this site and this is my first question. We used to go camping in a trailer tent good fun but i got fed up with building it up every time so decided to buy a caravan. 1st time buying a caravan so first one was a right of from the start so much damp i thought it was a fish tank lessons learned and a bit info from friend bought another. We now own a Fleetwood garland lxe 2 berth first problem was damp at front windows but it was coming from above windows so stripped out front and rebuilt good as new and no damp anywhere else went through it with a meter. Had to delamination the floor i think you call it getting rid of a bouncy floor sorted that. then had to replace the power control with switches for lights etc and fuses it sort of fused itself somehow and burnt out that is now sorted after checking all cables etc. My problem now is there was an electric heater in the caravan, previous owner said he was a bit of an electrician but it was wired up without the earth wire. I have now removed this and in the process of putting in a Carver 1800 gas heater, I had no plans to work with but managed to get it all fitting right my problem is on the heater has two wires coming from it and i can find nowhere at all where they would go. I came across a set of plans online but no help at all. I discovered there are a few variants of this heater with letters etc this on is just 1800 no other name or number. I hope someone can help with this problem.

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I have a Carver 1800 heater, there are no wires for normal operation as it is piezo ignition. I have the brochure that came with it which states that it can be modified to have a thermostat fitted to give control over temperature between 11 and 30degC so guessing this is what the wires are for, unfortunately there is not a picture of the the thermostat kit in the brochure.....

I have not heard back from ARC yet but i did find out where one of the wires went. The thin one actually connects to bottom of piezo ignitor button but still stuck on the earth wire.

I have just removed the cover of mine to have a look, Mine is a Carver Maxol Montana 1800C so may be different to what you have. I can only see the one white wire from the piezo unit to the ignitor, any grounds/earths are well hidden which i couldn't find any signs off, i used the oportunity to clean all the dust and fluff from underneath, around the valve and ignitor. so cant help much more than this sorry....

Sorry to be late to the party peeps 🤗
Piezo's though, like anything electrical have two connections, in this case one out the bottom or side to igniter and the other to earth, usually thats the casing and through that to the fire itself, so completing the circuit.
They will sometimes try and work without but you'll only get a spark perhaps once every 5 or 6 pushes
