Hi Adrian and welcome to the forum. Spongy floors due to compressed styrofoam between the plywood in heavily trodden areas is par for the course on the Series 7 range and can be fixed successfully with repair kits. Rotten flooring and especially the wooden support structure is a much bigger job though.

Dave.

When did you buy the caravan as you may be covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and it would be the dealer's responsibility to do any repairs. Hopefully it was bought within the past 6 months?

The OP noted it was “a rogue dealer”. Wonder what dealer it was?

When did you buy the caravan as that is quite important as legally you may be able to reject the caravan and get all your money back. When did you first bring any issues to their attention i.e. within first 30 days of purchase or within 6 months of purchase. The law is on your side and not the supplier.

Was it a proper dealer or someone who has "acquired" a few caravans?

If you get nowhere with your rogue supplier, at least the repairs could hopefully be relatively cheap and the woodworking skills needed are minimal.

However, it would be nice to know, before you expend a lot of time and effort on it. as to the full extent of the damage.

Dave.

Okay so it wasn't a dealer, but a dealer posing as a private individual. Happened to us when we bought from a person in Birmingham. We reported them to Trading standards who take a very dim view of this practice. We were lucky and got most of our money back while the seller got prosecuted.
