Hi all. Apologies if this seems a bit simple but we've just bought our first caravan (2015 sprite major 6td). We seem to have an issue with the water pump. Pressure seems fine, no evidence of leeks from the inlet housing or in the pump area but when not in use the pump still seems to be cycling but sounds like it's sucking through a straw, like there isn't enough water getting through. Is this likely to be an issue with the with the inlet hose assembly (Truma Ultraflow Compact). Any other ideas to check would be appreciated. Thanks. Steve.
Hi and welcome to the forum. If pump is cycling too often when not in use, you may have a problem with the non-return valve, (wherever it is located) it may be in-line, part of thr inlet manifold or part of the actual pump head as in my case. Could be a bit of detritus is stuck in the valve seal preventing it from fully closing. Water slownly seeps back into the aquaroll. It won't fill as efficiently either,
One give away is that the inlet tube gets warm at the top as the hot water in the tank slowly flows back.

Are you sure the filler pipe is sinking to the bottom of the aquaroll, there has been lots of people complaining that the blue filter floats.
Plenty of videos on utube on how to solve it.
Thanks you all, having a caravan cleaning and maintenance afternoon tomorrow so I'll have a look at the things you've suggested. Hopefully something straightforward.
Hi all, quick update. I've had to replace the pump as the housing had developed a leak and spares for repairing it seemed to be few and far between, I also replaced the filter, inlet housing (which was cracked) and inlet hose (which was also in fairly poor condition). Still got the same problem though! Pump still cycling but but water flow is inconsistent, constant spluttering from taps and constant pump cycling. Last thing to try is the non return valve and if that doesn't work I'm stumped!
When you fill aqua roll and put pump in and switch on the pipes and the water heater are all full of air so it splutters.
You need to make sure the drain valve is closed then switch nearest tap on which will splutter for a few minutes. Eventually it will run properly. Then do the same with the other taps.
