is your roof vent open? get a child up on the roof and lower them thr it to open the door, worked plenty of times for us, child of choice was my sister!
If you left your keys inside are you sure that you locked it? That's difficult to do as you can normally only lock the door from the outside.
Is it possible that the catch is simply not retracting sufficiently in which case a sharp tug at the door whilst holding the handle out may do the trick.

I guess after 2 days you may have found a solution!
Likewise to DaveS1, wasn't aware you could lock yourself out. But the mechanism becoming sticky and difficult to open is quite common.
A bit of pushing and thumping abound the lock (not too hard, risk of denting door!) can jar it free.
Lubrication with a silicone spray usually gets things operating freely again.
We can lock ourselves out of our Autosleeper MH, assuming the cab doors are locked - just push the Habitation door handle back & slam the door shut as you leave. So both of us always carry a set of keys, even just for nipping out to the loo.

Ah ! The original post referred to a 'van' and it is on the 'caravan'site so I naturally assumed we were talking about a caravan.

It is Dave, Title is "Caravan door locked keys inside".
I believe caravan doors are 'bought in' parts, not manufactured by the caravan company themselves, so likely many despite caravan brand have the same catch/lock.

Yours is a motorhome not a caravan
Yeah, we’re in a “motor caravan” and I’m surprised there aren’t more pleas for help from MH folks about locking themselves out, because (unlike caravans, I do appreciate) it’s very very easy to do.
Sorry for long delay in reply O/H solved the problem with a sharp tap with the palm of the hand
and a click was heard and bingo door opened up since then Bailey has been replaced with an Elddis special edition and we’re very happy with it
