Hi all,
We have a powertouch caravan mover fitted to our fairly light weight caravan
approc 1000 kg. The motor works when not engaged on the tyre but doesn't when it is engaged
Does anyone have suggestions as to what the problem could be please?
Thanks

My first check would be the state of health of your 12 volt battery? Does it hold its charge or does the voltage drop away as soon as you apply a load?

I would agree with AU. How old is the battery and has it been regularly charged whilst idle over a while like the winter months, as deep discharge can ruin a battery and is generally irreversable.

First, make sure that the battery is fully charged, then a cheap multimeter set on volts, across the battery terminals will do. If the voltage drops considerably, it's likely to be a new one needed.

If your battery shows on the multimeter as charged check the connections. If there ok ring Powrtouch they are very helpful. Make sure your near the van as they may ask you to try things.
