I know this is an old potato but I need to be reminded of the conversion of W to AMP. After the recent passing of my husband I need to have a conversion chart on the wall in the van so I dont blow the site as a lone femail.
It is not for me as I prefer to camp on my own with my dog.

Many thanks in advance.
I’m always chuffed to see other women on sites, doing it for themselves. All power to you, Kypn, be it in watts or amps.
PS - generally, you don’t need a chart: just don’t have 2 heating elements on at the same time - don’t use a hairdryer while bread is in the toaster; don’t boil a kettle while you’re using the electric hob; use a “travel” kettle, not the big one from your home kitchen.
And enjoy your camping. If you pop the EHU stanchion, you will not be the first one! We’ve all done it.
Just being a worrywart I suppose - hubby used to keep me right but now I'll have to pull up my big girl pants and get on with it! Thanks for the response.

Good on you for continuing solo, plenty of solo women out there (as well as solo chaps!) on most campsites, and absolutely no good reason not to do so. Plenty of help on here if you need it - just ask.
More and more solo lady campers in the past few years, mainly in motorhomes and campervans, only one who towed a caravan; so you are in good company.
As the others have commented, don't hesitate to ask for help if you are stuck.

Should have said this observation was based my observations when I was out and about camping, as I am certain there are more lady caravanners than just one!
Personally, I opted for a PVC high top campervan as I did not and still do not wish to tow a caravan.

Surely our standard voltage is now 230 not 240?
David
The nominal voltage 230 but this can vary by up to 10%.
Currently I believe the standard is 230v plus 10%/minus 6% (216-253v), and has been that for some 30 odd years, but has always operated in the higher limit giving a 240v 'normal' voltage. Proposals are afoot to further unify with Europe and set 230v plus/minus 10% (207-253v) as the standard, but again that may not see an actual reduction in supply voltage.
I've a power usage meter with voltage readout in my caravan, and I've never seen it display 230V (or less), whatever the official voltage is declared to be. 240-250v is the norm. It drops as demand increases across the site, and can be lower end if your EHU is remote from the supply point.
Similarly at home, have had cause to check power usage and voltage, and never seen 230V!
So for practical reasons, using 240v to calculate amperage seems reasonable, as it's what is most commonly found in the real world.
