Hello.
New to the Caravan arena & have hit a brick wall with YouTube videos etc!
My Thetford toilet won’t flush, I’ve checked the float in the cassette (red light stays on even when cassette out).
Previous owners told me there would be an issue with pump which only needed releasing the small impeller. Did this and when putting back together, this is when the red light first came on.
I’ve replaced the pump as well as the reed switch. Nothing changed.
Red light even remains on when the leisure battery is off.
I’ve messed around with the connector on the other terminal on the flush button control panel but it ends up blowing the fuse.
To my mind the red LED is only an indicator of level in the holding tank and won't stop the pump from running. I had an issue with mine and it was the float inside that had stuck up on a piece of paper, freeing it fixed it. Also removing the unit a little caused it to go out, if it stays on permanently and you've changed the reed switch I'd be looking under the membrane on the top to see if there are signs of corrosion on the board or connectors.
