I need to replace the gas struts for the roof vent.
Looked at a couple of You Tube videos and it looked quite simple - remove rubber cover, grip exposed tiny shaft with pliers and withdraw it. However when I removed the small plastic cover the exposed tiny shaft is flush with the surrounding plastic frame. I can't fathom out how to shift the shaft out to enable grabbing it with the pliers. Would appreciate any comments - thankyou.
