We have been using a Whale Watermaster Mains hookup for a few years and it has worked very well. We do shut of mains water if we are not at the caravan. I have cleaned and regreased the O rings.
Just recently things have changed. When we turn a tap on in the caravan the supply is what we think is normal, then after about 15 seconds or so the supply reduces to little more than a dribble. We are on a serviced pitch, none of the adjoining caravans have the same problem. the taps are of the mixer type and the reduced flow is the same for either hot or cold.
This happens at any time and I feel sure it is not a result of reduced supply.
When I first started using this Whalemaster I bypassed the internal pump.
Tempted to get another Whale Watermaster and see if it makes any difference, but at £80 could be a mistake. I have tried to find out if the pressure reduction valve can fail with out any success.
Any suggestions appreciated.
How about turning off the mains tap, unplugging the unit from the caravan and then turning the tap on again?
If water still reduces to a dribble you will know the problem is with the pressure reducer rather than anything in the caravan.
Can't think of anything else, sorry!
Thanks for info Dave S1. I have done that a couple of times but still the same. Beginning to wonder if it is due to limescale as the kettle is being descaled every few months. Mind you the hook up has been in regular use over the last few years. Probably get a replacement.
