Hi Jeffro.
I had a similar problem with my Tri Star
Have you ran the hot tap to clear the air from the tank before switching heater on?
Lack of water could cause tripping due to thermostat heating.
The problem I had was a leaking winter drain plug draining the tank.
Im sure a qualified techy will be able to assist soon

Hiya' Jeffro'
Yes that sounds about right...... if you haven't changed the filter for the start of the season then that could well be your trouble. Carbon particals freeze over the winter and tend to block some of the orifices. Before you fit a new carbon filter flush the system through with a mild bleach like Milton for babys bottles etc. Once it is all clear and a new filter fitted it should be okay........ provided it was okay when you used it last season...lol
Good Luck

Hi Ya,
Had same problem and kept forgetting what we did each time to rectify the problem,
Well believe it or not, it was where I forgot to close the tap lever under my bed , therfore the pump was taking water into the water heater but was coming out of the drain plug at the same time.
Every 4 to 5 seconds the water heater light would go from green to red , indicating that there was a fault.
Hope this helps.

O.K.
As you all know the story so far i.e.water heater not working, tried everything I know nothing worked. So I tried the `Pilkington method` (I worked for them for ten years,)
Sit and look at the problem.
So I sat and looked at the heater
And there it was, the answer
A pipe, a gas pipe
It hadn`t occured to me that it was a gas heater
So, I turned on the gas and Hey Presto!
Hot Water.!!!!!!
So thank you all for being so patient, caring and helpful.
