we got ours from b & q . be careful when poking the prongs in to someones caravan wall though. they wont be happy if you leave little holes everywhere.
I still can't see how you can go round pearcing the walls of someones caravan. You can't just do it in one place either you have to feret about squewering every panel to test i t properly.
Thanks to everyone for information I will try to get one this weekend, it's for checking our own caravan, I'm a bit worried since we found some damp and want to be sure that it is OK now and remains so. Although if I keep poking holes in the panels I guess that won't help!!

some people just dont care about others property. its just as easy to spot a damp panel by pressing it with your finger , if theres any give and it feels squigy ( how the heck do you spell that ! ) chances are its got damp.
having said that ive pierced a panel or 2 with me finger but only at a dealers , wouldnt dream of putting holes in anyones van whos selling private.
We're fairly new to caravaning, but learning fast, mainly due to the info on this site, we want the damp meter because when the caravan was serviced we were told it had damp, so got it fixed, but I want to check up myself from now on.
So now we've got to learn how to use a damp meter..... oh heck, still I can use my fingers!!
